LEGO Rock Anthem

In recent news I have released a small LEGO stop motion music video on Youtube. The song was written and performed by a friend, Ryan Nielsen on an acoustic guitar. Space pictures are courtesy of NASA.

The first draft(which is no longer available) was made with Axogon Composer Beta (A decent free video composer). The thing that bugs me the most about it besides only supporting one video format(avi) is that you have to manually set the length of every clip you import. Though on the plus side Axogon works under Wine. But when it comes to video creation I crave power and options. Last year I used a consumer video editor from MAGIX. Which was good except it crashed all the time, and some projects would not render at all. So I have been thinking if I get a video editor why get a hundred dollar piece of junky limited software?

On Friday I finally broke down and decided to go all the way and got Adobe CS3 Production Premium Suite. I would recommend being a student if just to get the Adobe discounts. Which are very good. The University where I go sells it even cheaper than the Adobe Educational Store. Though anyone has access to the online store as long as they or an immediate family member is enrolled in K-12 and up. Now what a kindergartener is going to do with Adobe PhotoShop or OnLocation I really don’t know. The final version embedded above was made with Adobe Premiere.

  1. cool stuff!

There are lots of cool perks to being a student. Great deals on expensive software is just one. Might as well take advantage of it while you can.
